Ada High Project Ignition

We are members of Ada High School’s Advanced Leadership class.  Last year, we participated in a grant entitled “Project Ignition,” a program that allows youth to create projects that deal with driving safety.  Last year, our project “Sharing Our Story…Staying Alive” focused on seatbelt usage and driving at safe speeds.  Our project was driven by the heart-wrenching story of Billy Long, the driver of a car that was speeding, lost control, and killed his best friend.  It also includes the story of Shelly Williams who had to deal with the loss of her son, Cody Bolin.  This Ada High student, because of his speeding and failure to wear a seatbelt, will be forever missed.  In hopes that future accidents may be prevented, we are determined to take this message to every school in our state.
